Process for submitting information for consideration by NICaN Readers Panel

Our Readers Panel members help us to understand how to create the right information for people affected by cancer. The panel includes people affected by cancer, members of the public, health and social care professionals.

New leaflets should be posted out to Readers Panel members while they are 'draft' - in other words, while they can still be changed before printing.

Existing leaflets that are being reviewed can be posted out to help you identify where changes may need to be made.

A feedback form is included for the panel member to fill in and send back by post (freepost).

All feedback forms returned by the panel are anonymised and then sent directly to you in a self-addressed envelope that you provide.

If you want our Readers Panel to consider information for you, please do the following:

1. Tailor the cover letter (available here) to suit your information.

2. Send the following items to the NICaN Office:

• The cover letter (tailored)
• Several copies of the leaflet to be considered (as many as you wish to be distributed, minimum 6 and maximum 30)
• A large envelope with your name and address on them (for us to send the feedback forms to you in).

It can take a while to get all responses back and not everyone on the panel participates every time. If you are in a rush for feedback, you may wish to provide more than one self-addressed envelope. You can request weekly or fortnightly batches of feedback forms to be sent in them.
