What is Cancer?

Cancer describes over two hundred diseases but one factor common to all is that cancer cells begin to rapidly multiply at the wrong time in the wrong place and prevents the body from working properly.

Latest research suggests that 1 in 3 people will have cancer at some point in their lives although cancer is far more common in older people (70% in people over 60 years old) than children and teenagers.  Although some cancers are more likely to affect younger people such as leukaemia.
